A Complicated World

Hi markofwords readers,
I hope this message finds you well. It's hard to believe that it's been almost four years since my last blog post. It would take days to summarize what I've been up to since then, so I'll spare you the details and get to the point of this post...
Despite my radio silence here, I haven't stopped writing during my extended blog break. I spent three years at the University of British Columbia, where I earned a BA in English and Creative Writing. I'm now halfway through a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Nonfiction at the University of King's College (a mostly online program based in Halifax). Along the way, I've published a few pieces of prose and poetry while working on two new books (one fiction and one nonfiction).
I've decided to retool this website to promote my freelance work as a wordsmith (writing & editing) and number cruncher (bookkeeping & analysis). I've also launched a new blog, which provides a glimpse into the topics I'm exploring for my nonfiction book: a collection of personal essays about living a simpler, more authentic life. I'd love it if you'd join me on my new site — it's free and easy to sign up at:
I hope to see you there. The site is fresh off the press, and I'll be posting new content within the next few days.
All the best,
Mark
